Who we are
This policy explains how FLICK GEAR ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you browse flickgear.in, place an order or contact us. FLICK GEAR is a gaming mousepad and mouse skate brand run by its founder, Rohan Ledwani.
We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act") and the rules made under it and, until the DPDP Act's main provisions take effect, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules. Under the DPDP Act we are the "Data Fiduciary" for the personal data described here, and you are the "Data Principal". By using the website or placing an order you confirm that you have read this policy.
What we collect and why
This is every kind of personal data we collect, why we need it and what it lets us do. We collect only what we need for these purposes.

Card, UPI and net-banking details are entered with the payment provider at checkout. We do not collect or store them. We do not ask for sensitive personal data such as health information or biometrics.
The Surface Finder quiz runs entirely in your browser. We do not receive or store your answers.
Your consent and how to withdraw it
We process your data with your consent, or where the DPDP Act allows it without consent. Most of what we collect is data you give us yourself, for a specific purpose, when you place an order or send us a message, and we use it only for that purpose. Optional cookies run only if you accept them, and we only send marketing emails if you have asked to receive them.
Withdrawing your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it: email shop@flickgear.in or use the contact page, and for optional cookies use "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page. When you withdraw, we stop the processing you agreed to and erase the data, unless we have to keep it by law, for example order and tax records. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did before, and it may mean we cannot complete an order that needs the data.
Where your data is processed
Our store runs on Shopify, and our service providers may process data on servers outside India. Where that happens, we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards to personal data, and we transfer data only as the DPDP Act permits.
How long we keep it
We keep order, payment and delivery records for at least one year, and for longer where tax and accounting laws require it. We also keep the technical logs and related data from running the store for at least one year, in line with the DPDP Rules, and we make sure our service providers do the same. Messages you send us are kept for as long as we need to resolve your request, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you follow up.
When data is no longer needed, or when you withdraw your consent, we erase it or make it anonymous, unless the law says we must keep it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable security practices: the site is served over HTTPS, payments are handled by regulated payment providers, our store runs on Shopify's secure platform, and access to customer data is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you without delay: what happened, what it could mean for you, what we have done about it, what you can do to protect yourself, and who to contact with questions. We will also report it to the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you can:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we process about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with.
- Ask us to correct, complete or update your data.
- Ask us to erase your data, unless we need to keep it to comply with the law.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, as described above.
- Raise a grievance with us.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in the event of your death or incapacity.
To use any of these rights, email shop@flickgear.in or use the contact page. We may need to confirm it is you before we act, usually by asking you to write from the email address or phone number you used for your order, or to quote your order number.
If we cannot resolve your complaint, or you do not hear back from us within the time set out below, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India. The DPDP Act asks you to raise the complaint with us first.
Children and young people
Our products are for everyone and we do not set a minimum age to shop with us. The DPDP Act treats anyone under 18 as a child and requires a parent or guardian's consent before a child's personal data is processed. So if you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place the order and give us the details, or to contact us on your behalf.
We do not knowingly track or monitor the behaviour of children, or direct advertising at them. If you think a child has given us their data without a parent or guardian's consent, contact us and we will delete it.

We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within one month of receiving them.
Changes and language
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell you on the website or by email before it takes effect. See also our Terms & Conditions.
